Decorative Painting has been a love of Jeanne Downing for the last 34 years. In 1977, she began teaching in her home and now conducts seminars both locally and around the country.
A member of the Society of Decorative Painters, she is a Certified Decorative Artist, and has taught at a number of the Society of Decorative Painters national conventions. She has authored five books, and her designs and instructional articles have been published in several leading decorative art magazines.
Many of her paintings are now in private collections here and abroad. Her interests range from still life to floral, with stroke roses being a particular favorite. Challenged to display and use the ordinary in a unique way, Jeanne creates functional pieces with personality and an elegant manner.
A hint of romance can be found in each design. Jeanne has three children, two daughters and a son, and three grandchildren. She resides in Loveland, Colorado, with her husband, where she delights in decorating, gardening, reading and web design.
